Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel Reopening

As we approach completion of our Major Refurbishment Programme at Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel, additional structural works were identified during the final stages of construction that require completion prior to reopening.

As part of this extensive upgrade, a number of specialised materials and furnishings are being sourced from New Zealand and offshore suppliers, as these are not available locally in the Cook Islands. Final installation is therefore coordinated around shipping schedules and installation.

To ensure every room is delivered to the highest standard of comfort, quality, and safety our guests expect, we have made the considered and proactive decision to extend our reopening date to 1 August 2026. 

This decision has been made early to allow clear communication and thoughtful planning for all affected bookings. Our Reservations team are contacting guests with arrivals between 1 April and 31 July in order of arrival date, to provide:

• Priority relocation to Moana Sands Lagoon Resort or Moana Sands Villas and Apartments, subject to availability
• Coordination with selected Trusted Accommodation Properties where required
• Flexible cancellation options where preferred
• Refund of any deposits taken Moana Sands Lagoon Resort and Moana Sands Villas & Apartments remain fully operational.

We sincerely appreciate the understanding of our Valued Guests, Partners, and Community as we complete this important Investment in our Beachfront property. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our refreshed Hotel this August.
